The Learning Lab is the heart of LJ Campus. Four hours a day. Intentionally structured and backed by research, it brings core academics and project-based learning together so students can strengthen skills, solve real-world problems, and create work of their own.

Students work on their individual reading, writing, and math curriculum brought from home, with direct instruction, learning stations, and individualized support.

A pause in the day to eat, rest, and build community.

LJC is a structured academic learning program, not a traditional enrichment class. The Learning Lab is designed to be a substantial part of a child’s homeschool education, combining core academics with hands-on, project-based learning.

LJC is designed for families looking for academics alongside hands-on, project-based learning. Beyond what students learn, we intentionally develop how they learn by building independence, making decisions, solving problems, collaborating, communicating their thinking, and taking ownership of their work.

LJC is designed to work alongside your existing homeschool program. Students bring curriculum from home or their charter school to work on during Core Block, with individual instruction and support provided as they work.

Students learn in the same environment without being expected to do the same work. Academic work is adjusted by level, while projects and challenges allow students to work within the same theme at different levels of complexity.

Students work at their own academic level, with instruction and support adjusted to their needs. Our Core Block includes independent work, learning stations, and opportunities for individual guidance.

Families choose a 2, 3, or 4 day plan based on their homeschool schedule and the level of support they’re looking for. With more consistent attendance, we’re able to provide greater continuity, build on students’ academic progress, and support their learning across the week.

Students should bring a packed lunch, labeled water bottle, socks (our learning space is shoes-off), and any curriculum or materials they plan to work on during Core Block.
